Teachers

Megan Djerf
1st-2nd GradeMegan's first students were her six younger siblings; eventually, they all outgrew her, and she moved on to 1st and 2nd graders at NCS. When she's not teaching, you'll find her reading, writing, cooking, creating, traveling, or cheering at Osseo basketball games. She relishes the opportunity to help Northside students radically love God, His Word and His World! She has taught at Northside since 2003.

Beth Dvorak
5th-8th GradeBeth has had the privilege of teaching at NCS since 1988. Beth has taught 5th – 8th grade in Language Arts, History, Bible and Drama. Beth said, "It is a joy to see our students grow in ways that are both spiritual and academic, and with God at our center." She feels the freedom to boldly teach Christian worldview.

Nicole Hale
1/2 GradesNicole started teaching part time at Northside in 2010. She is the oldest of four adventurous siblings who love to play sports, swim, climb, camp, and everything else that involves fun. Her family knew she would be a teacher like her father (8th grade), and her mother (homeschooled all five children) when she made her siblings play school with her, and when that didn't work, she resorted to teaching teddy bears. Nicole loves to see the twinkle in her student's eyes when they have an "aha" moment. She has a deep passion for the Lord that she loves to impart to those around her.

Marjean Halverson
NILD, 5th-8th Math, OfficeMarjean has had the privilege of teaching at Northside since 1981. It has been a blessing to teach grades K, 1, 3, 5-8 and in the Discovery center. Marjean has a Bachler's degree in Elementary Education,a Master's degree in Special Education (Learning Disabilities), and a certification from The National Institute of Learning Development (NILD) which enables her to coach students who may struggle in independent learning. She also has the privilege of training teachers through NILD at teacher's conventions and a summer graduate course. Marjean enjoys encouraging students to serve Christ as she leads the middle school and alumni on mission's trips to Mexico and Costa Rica.

Lora Korynta
Elementary PE and Middle School ScienceLora first joined Northside Christian School as a student, and has recently returned as a teacher. She has spent the past five summers co-leading a creation science dinosaur dig. She has worked with students and families teaching them how to excavate and prepare dinosaur bones for display. Lora desires to impart to her students a deeper understanding of God's beautiful creation.

Muthoni Munala
Pre-school: 3-4, 4-5Muthoni Munala was born and raised in East Africa. She has been teaching preschool at NCS since 2005. Prior to NCS, Mathoni taught for 7 years at First Baptist Academy in Dallas, TX. Mathoni said, "I love working with children and it has been an honor that God has allowed me to serve in this way." She has been married to Richard Munala for the last 19 years. God has blessed them with a son, Nathaniel, who is 15.

Carol Nelson
KindergartenCarol has been teaching kindergarten children at NCS since 2005, and they are her great joy. She had taught 5th and 6th grade children at Pontiac Christian School in Illinois. She is a mother of 5 children all of whom she home schooled for about 10 years. Three of her children are married and Carol has a precious granddaughter. God is growing closer and more real with every passing year!

Ann Ostendorf
MusicAnn began teaching music at Northside in 2008. Prior to NCS, she taught music for 4 years, most recently at PACT Charter School in Ramsey, MN. She also runs a voice studio out of her own home. While not teaching, she enjoys family time with her husband Tim and 2 year old son Samuel.
Administration

David Reid
Principal, 7-8 Bible HistoryPastor David has 38 years in Christ's service. His work has included counseling, pastoral, teaching, working with gang kids, administration and missionary service. He has helped establish Salem Christian School, Chicago, Ill. and Haven of Peace Academy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, East Africa. What excites him is raising next generation leaders around the world. He has earned a B.S. in Social Work and Bible from Philadelphia Biblical University, M.A. from Wheaton, M. Div. from Trinity Theological Seminary.
Teachers

Vee Wonders
3rd-4th GradeVee has enjoyed teaching at Northside since 1997. For most of those years she has served students in the 3rd and 4th grades. In the summers and prior to coming to Northside, she has taught special needs students in the public schools. Vee joins her husband of 31 years in ministry and in the raising of their three children.
